Steady

Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026 · Steady 1.0 for iPhone and Android phones

In short: Steady keeps everything you enter on your phone. There's no account, and we run no server that receives your information. We don't use ads, analytics or tracking, and we can't see your seizure log, medications or contacts. Information leaves your phone only when you choose to send or share it.

Who we are

Steady is published by Byte Logic Company (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy, email developer@bytelogic.pro.

What Steady stores, and where

Everything you enter is saved in Steady's private storage on your phone:

  • Seizures you time or log, with the details you add, such as type, warning signs, triggers, notes and whether rescue medication was given.
  • Your medications, doses, reminder times and dose history.
  • Emergency contacts you type in: a name and a phone number. Steady doesn't read your phone's address book.
  • Your care plan and profile, such as your name, rescue instructions, emergency number and notes.
  • Your settings in the app.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Steady has no account and no server to send it to.

When information leaves your phone

Only when you choose. These are the only ways:

Texting your contacts

When you tap Text my contacts on the seizure timer, Steady opens your messaging app with a message already written and addressed to your emergency contacts. If you've allowed location access, the message includes a map link to where you are. Nothing is sent until you tap Send. The message is delivered by your phone's messaging service and carrier under their own privacy terms.

Calling for help

The call button opens your phone's dialer with the emergency number filled in. You place the call.

Sharing or printing a report

Share as PDF builds a report on your phone and opens the share sheet or print screen. It goes only to the app, person or printer you pick.

Backups you save

Save a backup creates a file with your entries, medications, contacts and care plan, and lets you choose where to keep it. The file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. Restore from a backup reads a file you pick.

Speaking instead of typing

When you tap Speak, your phone's speech recognition turns your words into text. It runs on the phone when the phone supports that. When it doesn't, your phone sends the audio to Apple's or Google's speech service to be transcribed, under their privacy terms. Steady doesn't save the audio.

Your phone's own backups

Depending on your phone's settings, iCloud or Google backups may include Steady's data. Apple and Google handle those backups, not us.

Features that run on your phone

  • Photo scan. To fill in a medication or your care plan from a photo, Steady reads the text in the picture on your phone. The photo isn't uploaded.
  • Apple Intelligence. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence turned on, Steady can use Apple's on-device model to turn what you write or say into form entries. This runs on the phone.
  • Reminders and timer alerts. These are scheduled on your phone. They can show a medication name or your first name, and may appear on your lock screen depending on your notification settings.
  • Emergency number. Steady reads your phone's region setting to suggest your local emergency number. You can change it in Care plan.
  • Widget and Siri (iPhone). The lock-screen widget, Siri shortcut and Action button only open the timer. They hold no information.

Permissions

Steady asks for each permission the first time you use a feature that needs it. Every permission is optional: the rest of Steady works without it, and you can change it any time in your phone's Settings.

PermissionWhat it's for
LocationA map link in the text to your contacts. Steady checks your location only when you tap Text my contacts, never in the background.
Microphone and speech recognitionDescribing a seizure out loud with Speak. The microphone is on only while you're speaking.
Camera and photosScanning a medication label or a seizure action plan.
NotificationsMedication reminders and seizure timer alerts.

What we don't do

  • No account or sign-in.
  • No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
  • We don't sell or share your information. We never receive it in the first place.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information stays on your phone until you delete it. You can delete single entries in the app, erase everything with Settings → Erase all data, or delete the app. Because we hold no copy, there's nothing to delete on our side, and we can't recover anything you erase.

Security

Steady's data sits in the app's private storage and is protected by your phone's own security, such as your passcode. Keep your phone locked. Backup files you save aren't encrypted.

Children

Steady is meant for adults managing their own epilepsy or caring for someone with epilepsy, including a child. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't collect information from anyone, of any age.

Your privacy rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and US state privacy laws give you the right to access, correct or delete the personal information a company holds about you. Steady doesn't send your information to us, so we hold none to provide or delete. Everything is under your control on your phone. If you have a question or a request, email us.

Not a medical device

Steady isn't a medical device. It doesn't detect, predict or diagnose seizures, and it isn't a substitute for medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. The terms of use say more.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Steady sends any information to us or to a service we use, we'll update this policy before that version is released, and the app will tell you before the feature is used. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
