Steady
Help and support
In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Steady doesn't contact emergency services or anyone else on its own.
Common questions
Does Steady detect seizures or alert people automatically?
No. Every timer starts when someone taps it. Text my contacts opens your messaging app with the message and your location already filled in, and nothing is sent until you tap Send. The call button opens your phone's dialer; you place the call.
Where is my information kept?
Only on your phone. Steady has no account and sends nothing to us. The privacy policy explains the few times information leaves your phone, and each one happens only when you choose.
How do I move Steady to a new phone?
On your old phone, open Care plan → Settings and tap Save a backup. Keep the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone. It isn't encrypted, so keep it private. On the new phone, install Steady, open Settings and tap Restore from a backup.
How do I change the emergency number?
Open Care plan and edit Emergency number. Steady suggests a number from your phone's region, and you can change it to any number.
Can I start the timer from the lock screen?
On iPhone, yes. Add the Steady widget to your lock screen or home screen, or say “Start my seizure timer in Steady” to Siri. On an iPhone with an Action button, go to Settings → Action Button, choose Shortcut, and pick Steady's Start seizure timer. The lock-screen widget isn't available on Android yet.
Why didn't my medication reminder appear?
Check that notifications are allowed for Steady in your phone's Settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding them. On some Android phones, battery saving can delay reminders: allow Steady to run without battery restrictions in the phone's battery settings.
How do I erase everything?
Open Care plan → Settings and tap Erase all data, or delete the app. We keep no copy, so erased data can't be recovered unless you saved a backup.
Is Steady a medical device?
No. Steady doesn't detect, predict or diagnose seizures, and it isn't a substitute for advice from your doctor. Keep the care plan in Steady matched to the plan your doctor gave you. The terms of use explain this, and what Steady can't promise.
