Our Hello

Privacy policy

Last updated 3 November 2026 · Our Hello 1.0 for iPhone and Android phones

In short: Our Hello keeps your hellos, moods, people and reminders on your phone. There's no account, and no ads, analytics or tracking. Without Circle, the app sends nothing to us and we can't see anything you enter. If you turn on Our Hello Circle, the paid family alerts, a small amount of information goes to our Circle server so your family can be told when you tap Get help. This page says exactly what.

Who we are

Our Hello is published by Byte Logic Company (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy, email developer@bytelogic.pro.

What Our Hello stores, and where

Everything you enter is saved in Our Hello's private storage on your phone:

  • The name you'd like to be called, if you add one.
  • Your hellos: the time you tapped I'm OK, and a mood if you chose one.
  • The people you add: a name, a phone number and, if you choose one, a photo.
  • Your reminders: daily hello, medicine and appointment reminders, with the names and times you give them.
  • Your emergency number and your settings in the app.

Without Circle, none of this is sent to us or to anyone else.

When information leaves your phone

Only when you choose. These are the ways:

Calling or texting someone

When you tap to call or text someone, including Call 911 on the Get help screen, Our Hello opens your phone's dialer or message screen. You place the call or tap Send. Calls and messages go through your phone and carrier under their own privacy terms, and the app can't confirm that a call connected or a message was delivered.

Your large-print card

Sharing or printing the large-print setup card builds it on your phone and opens the share sheet or print screen. It goes only to the app, person or printer you pick.

Backups you save

Export backup file creates a file with your information and lets you choose where to keep it. The file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. Restoring reads a file you pick.

Your phone's own backups

Depending on your phone's settings, iCloud or Google backups may include Our Hello's data. Apple and Google handle those backups, not us.

Our Hello Circle

If you turn on Circle, some information goes to our Circle server. The next section explains it.

Our Hello Circle

Circle is an optional paid subscription. It lets you invite up to five family members, who are told when you tap Get help. Circle uses the internet, so it needs a server. If you never turn on Circle, nothing in this section applies to you.

What goes to the Circle server

  • Your first name, so your family knows who needs them.
  • The names and phone numbers of the people you invite, so the invite can be matched to them.
  • Your help requests: when you tapped Get help, and who in your Circle said they're responding and when.
  • A push token for your phone and for each family member's phone, so alerts can reach them. This is an address for notifications, not your location.
  • If Weekly summary is on, how many days you checked in each week. Not the times, and nothing else about your hellos. You can turn it off in Circle.
  • Your subscription status, so Circle knows it's active. We never see your payment details.

What stays on your phone

Your check-in times, moods and history, your medicines, reminders and notes, and the people you added outside Circle never go to the Circle server. Our Hello doesn't collect your location.

What your family members see

Your help requests while they're open, who in the Circle is responding, and, if you share it, how many days you checked in each week. They don't see your check-in times, moods, history, medicines, reminders or notes.

Services Circle uses

We use a small number of service providers only to run Circle, under contracts that limit what they can do with the information:

  • Heroku (Salesforce) hosts the Circle server and its database in the United States.
  • Expo push notifications, with Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, deliver alerts to phones. Alert text is kept short and doesn't include your medicines or notes.
  • Apple App Store or Google Play take payment for the subscription, and RevenueCat tells our server whether it's active. They handle payment under their own privacy terms.

We don't sell Circle information or use it for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Help requests are deleted 30 days after they close. Your Circle membership, your invites and the weekly counts are kept while Circle is active. If you leave Circle or ask us to delete your Circle information, we delete it within 30 days, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.

Features that run on your phone

  • Reminders. These are scheduled on your phone. They may show a reminder's name on your lock screen, depending on your notification settings.
  • Choosing a person from your contacts. Your phone's contact picker gives Our Hello only the one contact you pick. The app doesn't read your address book.
  • Daily hello widget (iPhone). The widget shows general text only. It holds no hellos, moods or contacts.
  • Emergency number. Our Hello uses 911 unless you change it.

Permissions

Our Hello asks for each permission the first time you use a feature that needs it. Every permission is optional: the rest of the app works without it, and you can change it any time in your phone's Settings.

PermissionWhat it's for
NotificationsYour reminders. With Circle, alerts when someone in your Circle taps Get help.
PhotosChoosing a photo for someone in your people. Only the photo you pick is used, and it stays on your phone.

Our Hello doesn't ask for your location, camera, microphone or contacts.

What we don't do

  • No account or sign-in. Circle links your phone to your Circle without a password or email address.
  • No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting tools, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
  • We don't sell or share your information.

Keeping and deleting your information

Information on your phone stays there until you delete it. You can delete single items in the app, erase everything with More → Privacy → Delete offline data, or delete the app. Erasing can't reach backup files you exported or copies in your phone's own backups. We hold no copy of your phone's data, so we can't recover anything you erase.

To leave Circle, remove yourself or your members in More → Circle, and cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account. To have your Circle information deleted from our server, email us from any address and tell us the phone number you used. We'll confirm when it's done.

Security

Our Hello's data sits in the app's private storage and is protected by your phone's own security, such as your passcode. Keep your phone locked. Backup files you export aren't encrypted. Circle information travels to our server over encrypted connections and is stored in an encrypted database.

Children

Our Hello is meant for adults. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Your privacy rights

Privacy laws such as US state privacy laws and the GDPR give you the right to access, correct or delete the personal information a company holds about you. Without Circle, we hold none. With Circle, email us and we'll give you a copy of your Circle information, correct it or delete it.

Not an emergency service

Our Hello isn't a medical device or a monitoring or emergency service. It doesn't detect falls or emergencies and it doesn't call 911. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. The terms of use say more.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Our Hello sends any other information to us or to a service we use, we'll update this policy before that version is released, and the app will tell you before the feature is used. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
