Common questions
Does anyone find out if I miss my hello?
No. Your hellos are saved on your phone and are just for you. A missed hello doesn't alert anyone, with or without Circle.
Does Our Hello call 911 or alert people automatically?
No. Get help shows a button that opens your phone's dialer for 911, and buttons that open the dialer or message screen for the people you added. You place the call or tap Send. If you have Our Hello Circle, Get help can also tell your Circle, after a short countdown you can cancel.
Where is my information kept?
On your phone. Without Circle, Our Hello sends nothing to us. With Circle, your first name, the people you invite and your help requests go to our Circle server so your family can be told. The privacy policy explains exactly what.
What is Our Hello Circle?
An optional paid subscription. You invite up to five family members, who join free on their own phones. When you tap Get help, they get a notification. One of them taps “I'm on it” so the others know who is responding, then calls you, and if you don't answer, goes over or asks your local police for a welfare check.
Circle only works when you tap Get help. It doesn't detect falls or emergencies, and family may not see an alert straight away. You can turn the weekly summary, the number of days you checked in, off at any time.
I was invited to someone's Circle. What do I do?
Install Our Hello on your phone, then open the invite link they sent you. You'll see what you will and won't see before you accept. Allow notifications when your phone asks, or alerts can't reach you. Invite links work once and expire after 7 days; if yours doesn't open, ask for a new one.
Why didn't my reminder appear?
Check that notifications are allowed for Our Hello in your phone's Settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding them. On some Android phones, battery saving can delay reminders: allow Our Hello to run without battery restrictions in the phone's battery settings. Reminders are best-effort; your phone may delay or silence them.
How do I move Our Hello to a new phone?
On your old phone, open More and use Export backup file. Keep the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone. It isn't encrypted, so keep it private. On the new phone, install Our Hello, open More and choose the backup to restore. If you have Circle, set it up again on the new phone.
How do I change the emergency number?
Open More and edit Emergency number. Our Hello uses 911 unless you change it.
How do I erase everything?
Open More → Privacy and tap Delete offline data, or delete the app. We keep no copy of your phone's data, so it can't be recovered unless you exported a backup. To have your Circle information deleted from our server too, email us.
How do I cancel Circle?
Cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Circle stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Apple and Google handle payments and refunds.
